Background

Safety Day is a major highlight in the PDO calendar when over 40,000 PDO staff and contractors are expected to unite behind a common theme. The Life Saving Rules were launched in 2009 and all staff (PDO & Contractors) declared their understanding of the Life Saving Rules and the consequences of not following them.  

This year the theme is Do the Right Thing in Reinforcing the Life Saving Rules and the campaign launches on 5th July. Are you ready to join us and make a pledge to comply with the Life Saving Rules?
 

Aim

To ensure that all employees are briefed on the Life Saving Rules and comply with them.
 

Objectives

By the end of the Safety Day discussions sessions, participants should:

• understand the learnings from previous Safety Days
• share personal stories with regards to Life Saving Rules
• understand the importance of having the capability (knowledge, skills and experience) to do the right thing with respect to Life Saving Rules.
• feel empowered to do the right thing in terms of compliance and respectful intervention with respect to the Life Saving Rules

Key Roles

Directors & Line HSE leaders:

• Prepare and implement engagement structure to cover all shifts and contractor staff within own directorate.

Supervisors:

• Supervisor to ensure Staff are briefed.

Employees:
