| 1. Introduction STOP is being revitalised within PDO as a result of a perceived decrease in its effective use and an increasing trend of incidents. As a result, all supervisors working at PDO locations or on PDO contracts are to undergo training to reinvigorate the correct use of STOP. This document outlines how this task is to be achieved. 2. Organisational Strategy PDO have identified 117 supervisory personnel with particular commitment, skills and ability in using STOP to be STOP Core Team (SCT) members; these supervisors have undergone training conducted by DuPont in preparation for this role. SCT team members will undertake the leadership of workshops and practical field sessions for the remaining, approximately, 2500 supervisors using materials to be provided by DuPont. The original SCT members may be augmented by other personnel with the requisite passion for safety and ability to coach, lead and enthuse other staff in the correct use of the STOP tool. To ensure sustainability in the long term, potential coaches should be regularly identified and assisted into the roll by existing coaches. STOP is designed around the philosophy that safety management is a core value of the organisation and a core function of line management. It also draws heavily on the philosophy that any safety success achieved is directly related to the visible commitment to the objective displayed by the line management. As part of this commitment, coaching will be undertaken directly by the Line.
