What is OTTP?

The Oman Technician Training Programme is a competence-based 12 month technical training programme conducted by PDO on behalf of National Companies and designed to train maintenance technicians (electrical, mechanical and instrumentation) and production operators for eventual employment in various companies.

Who is it eligible for?

This program is for technical diploma graduates. Up to 200 trainees from technical colleges are selected every year by National Companies to join the OTTP programme.

What does the programme consist of?

The programme consists of 6 months of off job training conducted at Mina Al-Fahal Learning & Development Centre or at the Fahud Learning & Development Centre followed by 6 months of structured on job training conducted at one or more of PDO’s interior locations. Trainees are assessed against OPITO’s (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) Engineering Maintenance Standards at level 2.
