Who is it eligible for?
This program is for technical diploma graduates. Trainees from technical colleges are selected every year to join the TOP programme. There are limited seats for training available, and so competition is very high.
What does the programme consist of?
The programme consists of 6 months classroom training, conducted at the Mina Al-Fahal Learning & Development Centre, followed by 30 months of structured on-the-job training conducted at one or more of PDO’s interior locations. Trainees are assessed against the OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) standards in Engineering Maintenance or Production Operations at level 2.
What happens when you get accepted into the program?
Upon acceptance by PDO, candidates are put through the following three year training program:
- Stage 1. 6 months formal class room training in the Company’s training centre at the Mina Al-Fahal Learning & Development Center. You will be required to successfully pass this stage to proceed to Stage 2.
- Stage 2. 18 months, on-the-job training in any of the Company’s interior locations. You will be eligible for employment after successfully passing the technical on-the-job examinations at this stage. You can then enter the final 12 months of the training program.
- Stage 3. 12 months, on-the-job training in any of the interior locations as an employee.
