"Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) is the "application of science of behavior change in the work place. It is a process that creates a safety partnership between management and employees that continually focuses people's attentions on their actions and the actions of others in their daily behavior."
BBS "focuses on what people do, analyzes why they do it, and then applies a research-supported intervention strategy to improve what people do".
The BBS team has developed and implemented "IHTIMAM" (an Arabic phrase which means Caring or I Care) - a completely customised and lean approach to Behaviour Based Safety that was designed by the people, for the people of PDO and its contractor community. The aim of IHTIMAM program is to improve the behavioural safety culture within the organization through proactive intervention to stop unsafe act and proactive systematic approach to eliminating unsafe critical behaviours
