Safety Alert: Machinery Guarding
On the 29th of June 2004, an employee suffered Severe fingers injuries when he placed his hand on unguarded fan belts of a crane engine that was suddenly started by his crew member, this resulted in (1/3 amputation on the middle finger and severe injuries on ring & index fingers). Remember replacing a guard is easier than replacing a finger.
