This presentation was presented by CSM/5 at the Toyota/Bahwan organised symposium "Safety and Technology" on 4/June/2002 at the Al Bustan. It highlights the road safety statistics in the World, Oman and PDO/Contractors. Who must act to STOP the killing: government, private sector, media, drivers, citizens, parents, etc, all co-ordinated by the National Committee for Road Safety. Key road safety problems in Oman are stated (result of the April/01 workshop on Nat Road Safety Plan). A suggested Nat Road Safety Plan index is given. A conclusion is drawn on the co-ordination role of the committee.
