A heavy duty bus approached a crossroads travelling at approximately 53kph on a graded road at the same time as a HGV tipper approached from the left.
Ensure everyone in the vehicle always wears seatbelts
Always obey traffic laws and STOP at junctions
Adhere to Signage on the road
Always drive at speeds safe for the conditions
Do not be pressured into rushing a journey
These fatalities occurred as a result of :
a) Not stopping at the mandatory STOP sign
b) Failure to adhere to Defensive Driving Techniques
c) STOP Intervention being ineffective
d) Ineffective resolution of unsafe conditions by Contractors/PDO
