Dangers of Wadis

In times of rain check the weather forecast before making a journey and only drive if absolutely necessary.

Any flowing wadi crossing can be dangerous.
Even in shallow wadis, rocks and debris hidden underneath can be deadly.

Never cross a wide or deep flowing wadi.

Never cross a wadi where you are driving against the current.

If the water is covering the white lower part of the wadi marker, do not cross

If attempting to cross a passable wadi ensure enough gap between you and the vehicle crossing in-front. Avoid bow waves from vehicles crossing the other way.

Never stop your vehicle whilst crossing a wadi. Keep a slow constant speed. If you get stuck in a wadi and it is safe to get to shore you should act promptly and leave your vehicle while you are still able to do so.
