2025 First Alert LTI#05 MVI Commuting bus collided with 3rd Party truck
While the bus driver was heading towards muscat international airport, a third-party vehicle truck driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the other side of the road resulting in head-on collision with the bus. One of the passenger in the bus suffered fractured ankle, remaining passengers and both drivers escape without injuries.
Do you ensure 3rd party actions are captured in your Hemp and communicated regularly to all drivers? Do you ensure all passengers remain seated and seat belt fastened during the journey ? Do you ensure pre trip TBT are relevant and conducted with drivers? Remember other road users and act accordingly
Tire puncture of third-party truck leading to rollover from initial assessment of ROP. Main findings: Bus driver was in the right lane all the time. Bus driver was driving within the compliant speed. Bus driver reduced the speed and controlled the bus in a professional manner in a very short reaction period (6 seconds) All passengers and the driver were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
