2025 First Alert LTI#13 Helper suffered Hand injury
During the offloading of Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) inspected joints activity, a forklift operator was positioning the joints into the storage rack when the pipes began to roll. The Helper attempted to manually stop the rolling pipe by his hand, during which his hand slipped, and his forearm got struck between the two pipes, resulting in a closed fracture of the bone. He was immediately provided with first aid onsite, followed by medical treatment at Badr Al Sama hospital.

The pipe rack had stoppers only at the ends, not in between, allowing pipes to roll freely. The designated ‘Red Zone’ was understood by the workers but not physically marked or barricaded. The Helper attempted to stop the rolling pipe manually, unknowingly placing himself in the ‘Line of Fire The Helper has one year experience in pipe handling.
