Objectives

Asset Integrity and Process Safety Management (AI-PSM) is a crucial matter for our survival and future success.

Keeping our product in the pipe/facilities from the moment we start drilling until the moment we deliver our products to our customers is must.

We work in an industry that involves operation of processes that contain flammable materials at high temperatures and pressures.

When something goes wrong, it can go very wrong. Fortunately, we can work with these materials safely. We do this by establishing and maintaining barriers that act as a control against identified hazards. These barriers reduce the likelihood of incidents.

Good process safety management does not happen by chance and requires broad level visibility and constant active engagement with the workforce. The 2015 Process Safety Day focus is to engage with the staff and raise awareness and the profile of the Asset Integrity - Process Safety (AI-PS) program and help everybody know their role, know their barriers and ensure they are healthy.

The key message to communicate is: OWN YOUR BARRIER AND TAKE CARE OF IT!

What is Reflective Learning

Reflective learning is a facilitated interactive group discussion. Through simple and engaging materials ‎‎(video!) we make an emotional connect and let people internalize an incident. IT’S NOT ABOUT ‎WATCHING A VIDEO. Through discussions with colleagues people learn from each other and can have an ‎opportunity to gain new insights. At the end of the session we ask everybody to identify a personal ‎action. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO DIFFERENTLY?‎

Key Roles
Directors

To ensure the campaign is effectively cascaded and the Leadership team attend some of the sessions at the interior locations.

Manager/Team Leader/Supervisors

Prepare themselves by reviewing the facilitators guide video/presentation NO LEAKS - I OWN MY BARRIERS. Take printouts for the handouts and bowtie poster for capturing personal actions.

To engage with their team on this day for 60 - 75 minutes session by:

  • Introducing why we focus on Process Safety.
  • Discussing the role and contribution to Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management
  • Make sure the attendees fill out their actions on the Bowtie Poster and upload the actions to the Process Safety Day website.
Staff (PDO & Contractors)
  • Discuss and understand their roles in managing the Process Safety Barriers.
  • Raise issues that they face and give feed back during discussions.
Contract Holders
  • Effectively  execute Process Safety Day to respective contractors supported by HSE Team leaders.

Deliverables

The objectives of this session are that after participating in the engagement session we want that:

  • People understand their role in managing Process Safety barriers.
  • People understand that we can't rely on just one barrier.
  • Individual go out and verify that the barriers they are responsible for are in place and working.
